Symbolism:

The tinctures Argent (white) and Gules (red) represents the colors of the flag of Canada and also the flag of Poland. The kerchief in a circle knotted in base of the first indicates the tincture Argent or white and represents Jack's mother's side of the family. The literal name is Nałęcz (pronounced 'Nawench') in Polish, which is shawl or kerchief.

The Red Trillium represents Ontario and an observation captured during a Latin class long ago - 'Nihil est sine culpa' - 'Nothing is without fault.' The flower is truly lovely, but it does not have the most appealing aroma. Matt, sees this concept as optimistic and positive. We would be much happier and enjoyed things more if we accepted some of the small imperfections in our lives.
