Paulus Hector Mair, 1510-1550
Österreichische Nationalbibliothek, Vienna - Codex Vindobonensis Palatinus 10.825 "Opus amplissimum de arte athletica" was created in the 16th century, written both in German and Latin. Images are extraordinary, many depicting unarmoured individuals engaged using longsword, dagger, quarter-staff, dussack, pole-axe , short-staff and what appears to be a sickle.
