Connaught Public School"How a man shall be armed in the 14th century" - School Presentation |
David M. Cvet, president and founder of the Academy European Medieval Martial Arts or AEMMA, along with assistant and student of the same Academy, Scholar Aaron Bolarinho, delivered a 1.5 hour presentation on "How a man shall be armed in the 14th century" to approximately 200 students of their Grade 4 through 8th grade classes on March 5, 2009, 1:30 - 3:00pm in the gymnasium at Connaught Public School, St. Catharines. The presentation was scheduled shortly after their lunch period.
The presentation included detailed description of the arms and armour of a 14th century knight while David was dressing up in the armour. During this portion of the presentation, questions from the audience were fielded by David, which included such questions as "How heavy is the armour"? "How heavy is the sword"? "Where does one get the armour?" and so on.
At the conclusion of the presentation, popular videos were shown and projected onto the big screen in the gym, which included the popular AEMMA webmercial and the armoured combat tournament at the ROM from March 2008.
Thanks to Ms. Marie Atack, who happens to be David's sister and is a teacher at the school for organizing the event and making the A/V equipment available for the presentation.
