FALKENHAGEN, Leanna
Arms: Cendrée a bend Argent, a Sanguine hound dansant Crest: Upon a helmet mantled Cendrée doubled Argent, a torse of the same. A demi griffin Sanguine holding in the dexter talon a dagger Proper. Motto: Grip Fast Flag: A banner of the Arms. Standard: NA Artist: self Herald: Mathieu Ravignat (OMSG Herald) Symbolism: To the bearer the choice of the German tinctures of Cendrée and Sanguine represent her Germanic roots. Cendrée is for her a symbol of strength, toughness, neutrality, even handed judgment and the colour of autumn skies. The sanguine of the hound is a reference to Canadian maple leaves in the fall. The hound is shown playful (“dansant”) and is to the bearer a symbol of loyalty, faithfulness and tenacity. The playfulness of the hound reminds her that all fighting today should be "au plaisance" (for joy), and also that: loyalty, faithfulness, tenacity and guardianship, are things to be undertaken with joy, and never as a burden.
Furthermore, the styling of the hound is a reference to the bearer’s northern European roots and was chosen, rather than another animal, as the family has always been humble peasants. It is also a reference to her profession in social housing and is a symbol of a humble guardian or shepherd.
The crest and motto are based on those of the Leslie Clan, to reflect the bearer’s maternal heritage.
