| Description: | The founders of Stoccata School of Defence was founded in 1998 by Stephen Hand, Andrew Brew and Peter Radvan  to formalise research and teaching in historical fencing dating back to 1985. Initailly focussing on late 16th-early 17th century sword and rapier, the school now has three branches (two in Sydney and one In Hobart) teaching a wide range of historical systems from late 13th century sword and buckler to 19th century English backsword and sabre. The instructors have taught all over the world and have collectively published seven books on historical swordsmanship. |
